This house has the most outstanding Islay location you could wish for. A large spacious 4 Bedroom bungalow, built in 1985 by Rob & his Dad, Johnnie, is positioned high up on the hill at Balaclava with breathtaking views over much of Islay. From the front giant picture windows you overlook all of Laggan Bay, most of Loch Indaal to the gentle hills of the Rhinns. On a clear night you will see the twinkling lights of Bruichladdich & Port Charlotte villages and the rotating flashing lights of Portnahaven Lighthouse. From the back of the house & the garden you can see all of Port Ellen bay & beyond to the Mull of Kintyre & the stunning Antrim Coastline of Northern Ireland.

Accommodation
Front Entrance & Utility Room: Plenty of space for hanging coats & boots, storage cupboard for cleaning materials. Beautiful slate tiled flooring.

Open plan Living space: Apart from the 4 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms the entire house provides a spectacular luxurious open plan modern living space with panoramic views all around.
At the back is a beautifully proportioned & spacious Oak kitchen area with dish washer, washing /drying machine, microwave, coffee machine, electric hob. In front is a large solid kitchen dining table seating up to 8 with an old fashioned pine kitchen dresser. High chair available.
In the centre of the room is a spectacular floor to ceiling feature stone fireplace with central Wood burning stove as a focal point . Large comfy sofas are positioned all around the fireplace with picture windows on three sides provide a stunning & breathtaking outlook. This really is a "Room with a View".

 


There is a small Library area with old pine desk & chair in one corner over looking Port Ellen bay plus rocking chair. Plenty of Books on wildlife , travel, adventure, painting, birdlife plus novels.

Free Wi Fi Access, Satellite TV & DVD player. I Pod docking station /radio /CD player, plus old fashioned piano (Not perfectly tuned).
In centre of the house is a large Airing /storage cupboard to dry our coats & provide spare towels, pillows etc.

Bedrooms 1: Large spacious bedroom with spectacular front picture window over looking Loch Indaal & the Croft. Large super king size bed plus space for small single bed & travel cot.
Bedroom 2: Another light spacious Bedroom with 2 twin beds that can become a double plus room for a small single & travel cot. Views over the Hills & Port Ellen Bay
Bedroom 3: Smaller but cosy room with 5ft king size solid pine bed overlooking Loch Indaal & the Croft.
Bedroom 4: Two small Single Beds in cosy room over looking the Hills.
All Bedrooms are light & spacious with sunny bright modern bedding. Exceptionaly comfy mattresses. Wooden flooring & bright colourful rugs.

Bathrooms 1: Large Bath, separate walk in Shower, WC & hand basin cabinet with large mirror, electric towel rail

Private Garden Area: This house has a fun private & safe garden all around the house at different levels. The views are very special & there is a giant rock seat in the front for that special time to just stop & take in Islay’s spectacular scenary. You will not be disappointed. Fields are all around & as you take walks higher up the hill the more spectacular the views become . Plenty of parking at the back but we ask you to keep the field gates free in case we need to move livestock or take the tractor into the field .
